I’m sorry if I am in the inappropriate thread. I’m searching for some tips on how to install some home speakers? The issue I always have is the fact that my audio receiver is sending out a hum when it’s turned off which in turn causes the transmitter that I use for my cordless speakers to stay awake. For that reason my rear loudspeakers will keep sending out this particular humming noise anytime I am not viewing television. I could probably put in something that might physically cut the audio cable between the receiver and transmitter while the receiver is in stand by. I’m not very technically knowledgeable and therefore would appreciate recommendations.

My apologies should I be in the incorrect thread. I am searching for some tips regarding how to set up a pair of cordless speakers? I am employing a 5.8 GHz cordless speaker product to run my rear speakers. The transmitter is connected to my AV receiver. The trouble comes about when the AV receiver is in standby. It will transmit a slight hum. This tends to prevent the wireless transmitter from going into standby. Commonly the transmitter should begin stand by when there is no music delivered to the transmitter inputs. The issue is that my speakers keep sending out the same kind of humming noise while the AV receiver is in stand by. Interestingly there is no such thing as a hum coming from my receiver if it is active. I do not imagine that this can be a ground loop issue. I’ve been contemplating ways to resolve this issue. One idea I had would have been to install a switch to cut the sound to the transmitter or power down the transmitter (cut DC power) while my AV receiver is in stand by. Yet, I really don’t know how to pair this switch together with my AV receiver. Does anyone have any good ideas?

Hi all, I don’t know if I am in the correct forum thread but I am looking for some pointers to assist me to solve an issue with a wireless speaker kit? The challenge I have is the fact my audio receiver is sending out a hum if it’s switched off which in turn causes the transmitter that I employ for my cordless speakers to be awake. That in turn will cause my wireless amps to be on on a regular basis and give off a slight hum through my rear speakers. This sound isn’t present while my audio receiver is working, i.e. active.
